The Association for Women's Studies in Finland was founded in 1988. This national, scientific association aims promoting Women's Studies and making it known to the public. The association publishes the Naistutkimus - Kvinnoforskning journal. In addition, we arrange seminars, courses and the annual Women's Studies Conference.
The association has more than 600 members. All Women's Studies and Gender Studies units in different universities, students and the Naistutkimus - Kvinnoforskning journal are represented in the board. The chair of the association is at the University of Helsinki. The editorial board of the journal and the responsibility for arranging Women's Studies Conference rotate between different universities.
